I am so in love with pink recently. It’s such a delicate and lovely color. It makes me feel happy and girly.
It is a very warm color, feminine, makes me wanna light some candles. I think of shimmering crystals, chandeliers, cotton candy, glitter, those vintage sweaters with the lovely rhinestone designs, lip gloss, chiffon and so much more. By the way, did you know that boys wore pink before and the girls wore blue? And before the 20th century there was no gender identification by color? One of the earliest references to this original color scheme appeared in a June of 1918 edition of trade publication Earnshaw’s Infants’ Department.
The generally accepted rule is pink for the boys, an blue for the girls. The reason is that pink, being more decided and stronger color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl.
For reasons unknown, this all started to change around the 1940s when clothing manufacturers decided on pink for girls and blue for boys.
I like both colors so much that I could wear them every day. So, I guess I will buy a lot of new clothes making my wardrobe a lot more colorful.
